Onsior™ (robenacoxib) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID) of the coxib class. It is a potent and selective inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase- 2 enzyme COX-2.
The effectiveness of Onsior™ at controlling the post-operative pain and inflammation associated with orthopaedic surgery, spay, and neuter was shown in a field study.1
Features of Onsior
Onsior™ tablets are the only feline NSAID approved for 3 days of post-operative control of pain and inflammation.1
It has a fast onset of action and persists where it is needed most.1
It has a strong safety profile.1 Onsior™ even received the “Easy to Give” Award. Onsior™ tablet and injectable can be used interchangeably.1
In an in vitro whole blood assay in cats, Onsior™ demonstrated selective COX-2 inhibition.1
Onsior™ is quickly absorbed into the blood stream upon injection or oral administration and is rapidly eliminated from the blood.1
Onsior™ is a highly protein-bound NSAID. It persists longer at the site of inflammation than in the blood because inflammatory exudate is rich in plasma proteins, thereby providing sustained drug levels at the site of action.2,3

Indications
For the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with acute or chronic musculoskeletal disorders in cats. For the reduction of moderate pain and inflammation associated with orthopaedic surgery in cats.
Important Safety Information
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established in cats weighing less than 2.5 kg or under 4 months of age. Use in cats with impaired cardiac, renal or hepatic function or in cats that are dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive may involve additional risks. If use cannot be avoided, these cats require careful monitoring.
Do not use in cats suffering from gastrointestinal ulceration.
Do not use concomitantly with corticosteroids or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs).
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not use in pregnant and lactating animals.
